Stage 1 has been a roller coaster of emotions for the Florida Mayhem and their fan-base. Currently sitting at a 1-5 record, the Mayhem have under-performed to say the least. With Stage 1 Playoffs contention out of the question, the Mayhem need to pick up a win this week. Their match is against the 0-5 Washington Justice, and would help the Mayhem improve their overall map differential. This is the Stage 1 Week 5 preview for the Florida Mayhem.
Week 4 Recap:
Boston Uprising: 4-0 L
The match against the Boston Uprising was one-sided from the start. The Mayhem struggled to get their act together throughout the match and it definitely showed. The Uprising had an answer for everything the Mayhem threw at them, and then some. With Cameron “Fusions” Bosworth leading the Uprising, there was nothing the Mayhem could do to stop them. However, the Mayhem did their best to keep maps close, but would ultimately fall to the Uprising.
Player of the Match: Cameron “Fusions” Bosworth
The man, the myth, the legend himself, Fusions would be the backbone of everything Boston achieved this season. Fusions is a remarkable shot caller, enabling his team to close in on enemies with fine precision. His abilities on Reinhardt are unrivaled by other Western players, and it really shows he is the top of his class in terms of dexterity and game sense. Fusions has done, and will continue to do many great things with the Uprising this season. Keep an eye on the Uprising this season.
Week 5 Preview:
Washington Justice (0-5) March 17th @ 4:30pm EST
This week is crucial with Sunday being the last game for both teams in Stage 1. The Justice will be looking to clinch their first victory this stage and the Mayhem look to better their overall Map differential. The Justice have struggled to gain a footing this stage, with a mixed bag roster who seem to struggle with communication. The Mayhem have also had their fair share of communication issues, but have been able to keep their matches close. The Mayhem have under-performed and have gotten into their own heads during matches, resulting in many close map and series losses. This week should prove to be a little less stressful for the Mayhem, and they could have the chance to end the stage on a high note.
Official Prediction: 3-1 in favor of the Florida Mayhem
Homecoming
The stage will be over for the Florida Mayhem on Sunday night, but they have shown improvements throughout Stage 1. Without having to worry about Stage Playoffs, the team is going to take some time for themselves and take a trip back to Florida. They will be having an esports night in Orlando with the Orlando Magic NBA team, and get the chance to hang out with fans. This Stage has been rough for both the team and the fans, hoping to better themselves from the Season 1 shortcomings that plagued the organization. This trip will allow fans to show their support, get some autographs and play some Overwatch with the pros. The next time we see the Florida Mayhem, will be Stage 2 Week 1 Day 2, as they take on the London Spitfire.
