CDL Atlanta is less than a day away. While the home team are undoubtedly the favourites to win it all, there are certainly a few teams that will look to impress this weekend. The Paris Legion are one of those teams. After strong showings at the Minnesota Launch Weekend, and at CDL London two weeks ago, they have certainly proven themselves capable of challenging the Call of Duty elites.
Previewing Week 3
Minnesota Rokkr (2 – 0)
Starting off their weekend, the Paris Legion will be squaring off against the Minnesota Rokkr on Saturday. Paris have proven themselves to be a very strong Domination team, having only lost one map of it thus far in the season. They have also showcased several strong performances in Hardpoint, managing to take one off the Huntsmen in their semi-final bout in London. The key focus for the Legion this week will be in their Search and Destroy matches. Despite featuring many well-known SnD stars like Matthew “Kismet” Tinsley and Luke “Louqa” Rigas, they have been lacking in consistency, leaving much to be desired on that front.
Though all signs seem to be pointing to a Paris win in this match-up, that is not to say that the Rokkr are incapable of winning out over the opposition. In the two matches they played in their home weekend less than a month ago they showed themselves to be a relatively strong respawn team; expect sparks to fly in the hardpoint maps. With players like Alex “Alexx” Carpenter, Adam “GodRx” Brown and Obaid “Asim” Asim on their team they should prove to be more than capable of causing the Legion some problems in Search and Destroy.
Player To Watch: Denholm “Denz” Taylor
Denz has been the talk of the town as of late in the Call of Duty scene. After putting up seriously high numbers in London, many will be eager to see if he can continue to dominate the competition with his immense AR prowess. He was a member of the SCUF Gaming team of the week at London and is considered by several analysts to be among the top 5 players in the league. Denz could prove to be the key in Paris Legion’s continued pursuit of glory at Atlanta this weekend.
