What Happened to “The Dynasty”?

To start, the Optic Dynasty is considered one of the best teams ever assembled in the Call of Duty League’s young history. As of right now, there has been no team to dominate the scene as the Optic Dynasty did. However, four years after the team won the Call of Duty Championship, all is not well as the team has since been fighting amongst themselves. The real question is, what happened to the dynasty? 

After the Championship

Shortly after the team won the Call of Duty Championship in the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare season, the players Seth “Scump” Abner, Ian “Crimsix” Porter”, Damon “Karma” Barlow, and Matthew “Formal” Piper were all in high hopes and as happy as ever. 

That quickly changed as the next season came around. The team was not getting along well with each other as every one of them was playing the blame game as the team was not performing well. This eventually led to Karma retiring and Formal leaving for the Seattle Surge, which at the time were known as Luminosity Gaming. 

The Black Ops 4 Season

Things were looking to get excited as this next season caused great change for Optic. One huge change was the addition of two young star players in Thomas “TJHaly” Haly and Brandon “Dashy” Otell. This along with the return of Karma, teaming up, yet again, with Scump and Crimsix. 

The team was playing at the highest level, playing the polar opposite of last season. However, the team fell short as they placed third at the Call of Duty Championships as they had to watch some of their rivals, eUnited and 100 Thieves play in the final. The next season, consequently, would be the worst year for Optic.

Modern Warfare Season

This season brought a great change. Shortly after the last season’s Call of Duty Championship, a lot of the blame was put on Crimsix as he did not perform well on championship Sunday. 

This, consequently, led to the downfall of the dynasty. As Karma was set to play for the Seattle Surge. Formal wanted to come back to Optic and play with Scump. However, he did not want to play with Crimsix. Which led to the dropping of Crimsix. 

This caused hatred towards Formal and Scump as Crimsix felt betrayed because he never treated Scump this way. He stated that he was backstabbed by the team and then decided to go to Optic’s biggest rivals, Envy, aka the Dallas Empire. Since then, the dynasty have never had resolve and never all been in the same room since. 

The Season Now and the Future

This all came to a head after Scump was supposed to be the best man at the Crimsix wedding. Now, Scump and the majority of Optic are not even being invited to the wedding. Thus proving, that even after the team went through all that, the move to kick Crimsix out really had a big effect on Crimsix to the where he does not even talk to any of them. 

With Karma retiring, and all the other players from the dynasty growing in age. Who knows what is to come for these storied players with storied careers in Call of Duty. Will they make up? Or will they still never talk to each other even after retiring?
