The Paris Legion continued to light up the Call of Duty League with a solid performance at the London Homestand weekend. Following on from their incredible 2-0 start in Minnesota, they managed to finish in the top 4 at CDL London, surely making them a force to be reckoned with.
Despite an early setback losing their first pool play match 3-1 to the New York Subliners on Saturday, the Legion managed to turn things around with a solid 3-1 win over the Toronto Ultra on Sunday. This in turn setup an all-important rematch with the Subliners, with the winner of the match advancing into bracket play. This turned out to be very different performance altogether from the first match-up as Paris managed a 3-0 sweep of the Subliners. With that crucial win in the bag, Paris then moved on to face the mighty Chicago Huntsmen in the semi-finals. Unfortunately for the Legion, the Huntsmen proved to be too much of a challenge for them, as they were beaten 3-2 in a close match.
Search and Destroy proved to be the weak point for Paris as they were only able to win two SNDs the whole weekend. While they were often getting first bloods, it seemed that the communication just wasn’t there at times as they were often unable to capitalize on certain advantages. Hopefully, fans will see a big improvement when Paris take the stage in Atlanta.
Their performances in respawn game modes showed that they are certainly more than capable of causing problems for the top teams in the league. They had several close games of Hardpoint against their opposition, even more impressive was that they were able to steal a Hardpoint map off the Huntsmen in their best of five thriller. They have also managed to solidify their standing as one of the best Domination teams in the league, with their only loss in the game mode coming at the hands of the Huntsmen in the semi-finals. The Legion will certainly look to capitalize on this strength as they look ahead to Atlanta in just over a week.

Denholm “Denz” Taylor
Denz was by far one of the most impressive players coming out of week 1 in Minnesota and he continued his dominant run throughout London. He continued to put up big numbers in the respawns and his positioning around the maps in Search and Destroy made him a tough opponent to handle. He finishes the event with a 1.25 Hardpoint K/D (Kill/Death ratio), a 1.46 K/D in Search and Destroy, and a 1.28 K/D in Domination. Paris fans can expect to see him put up more numbers like this heading into the Atlanta homestand in a week’s time.
