The Launch Weekend for the 2020 Call of Duty League Season is less than a week away. There have been changes left and right with pretty much everything regarding the Call of Duty League. But with all the changes, the every team needs to be prepared for their matches next weekend. It can be easy to overlook so many teams when their is championship level of expectations for the Seattle surge. With that in mind, here are week one predictions for the Seattle Surge.
VS Florida Mutineers
Their first match comes against the Florida Mutineers. Their roster consists of Preston “Prestinni” Sanderson, Bradley “Frosty” Bergstrom, Cesar “Skyz” Bueno, Colt ” Havok” McLendon, and Chance “Maux” Moncivaez. This team is a fairly quiet group but they share something in common with the Seattle: a player with a Championship ring. This kind of experience could be valuable with the Mutineers. They do not stream as heavy as the Chicago Huntsmen or the Dallas Empire. During the few times their scrims were streamed, we have seen them play pretty competitively in Hardpoint games. Being competitive and even winning maps against a team like Chicago is a good stat to have. Based on the experience and recent games played, this will most likely be the hardest match of the weekend. Yet, it is fairly easy to predict a win for Seattle in this series.
VS Toronto Ultra
The Toronto Ultra are Seattle’s second match of the weekend. The official roster consists of Daniel “Loony” Loza, Anthony “Methodz” Zinni, Carson “Brack” Newberry, Alejandro “Lucky” López, Adrian “MeTTalZ” Serrano in the starting lineup. Toronto has several hurdles to fight through, the first is managing their 10 man roster. The second is managing flight burdens for away matches. This team, unlike Florida, have several recorded streams available. Their results against powerhouse teams have not been very favorable. Instead of having a star player to focus a roster around, Toronto decided to have a full 10 man roster with mid tier players. This gives them depth but could create an abundance of similar talent. On paper this should be the easiest match of the weekend and another win for Seattle.
Weekend Predictions
The Seattle Surge will have their fair share of hurdles to jump through. But based on streamed scrims, experience, and other factors, Seattle could very well have the easiest schedule in week one. As long as the team plays up to expectations, fans should see a 2-0 next to “The Seattle Surge” for week one of the CDL 2020 season.
