Priestahh Clutches up Against Dallas

Publish Date: March 9, 2020

Atlanta Faze were knocked out in Winner’s Semis against the Minnesota Rokkr. A close 3-2 final series, FaZe and the man of the moment, Preston “Priestahh” Greiner, looked unstoppable the entire weekend. Here is a look at Priestahh’s top plays from Day One of CDL Los Angeles.

Priestahh went huge on Saturday against the Dallas Empire to secure a 3-0 victory and advance his team into Championship Sunday. In the final seconds of St. Petrograd Hardpoint, Priestahh was last alive on the first hill rotation. With his team spawning out, he had to prevent a Dallas team push and stay alive long enough for Atlanta to flood the hill. Map One looked lost for FaZe, but Priestahh played it smart and remained a nuisance in top stairs to string together an impressive four-piece for a narrow 250-241 win.

His next best play was on Round One of Piccadilly Search and Destroy. His quick movement went undetected by Empire’s Ian “C6” Porter, who was pre-aimed and dropped at buses. Priestahh then made a 180 and snapped on Cuyler “Huke” Garland before assisting teammate Michael “MajorManiak” Syzmaniak with the kill on Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro. Priestahh, alongside the tiny terrors Chris “Simp” Lehr and Tyler “aBezy” Pharris, made Piccadilly look easy against the likes of Dallas. With a 6-3 victory, FaZe continue to dominate in Search and Destroy.

During the Hackney Yard Domination, fans were treated to a FaZe Astro-Gaming listen in mid-map. During this listen in, Priestahh and Simp were going off. They were holding a triple cap and surging toward a commanding lead. Priestahh locked down middle crates with a three-piece to relieve pressure on the B flag. His kills helped secure his team’s spawns and slowed the push from C side. Dallas were able to fight back, but Priestahh’s clutch kill on Shotzzy at B flag in the final few moments of the game allowed FaZe to come out on top.

Priestahh Drops 13 Kills on Florida

Main stage veteran and Search and Destroy all-star, Priestahh back in the 2019 CWL season under 100 Thieves, was the clutch factor and tipping point to his team’s notable mid-season turn around. Now on Atlanta, Priestahh proves time and time again that he is a world-class Search player.

This next best play occurred during a Search and Destroy on Arklov Peak against Florida, the same team they 3-0’d in the CDL Atlanta finals. In round two, Priestahh took out Colt “Havok” McLendon and Bradley “Frosty” Bergstrom before finishing off Maurice “Fero” Henriquez from the B site. This play was a combination of great timing and positioning. Priestahh likely heard the two players outside the door and knew Fero was wrapping back to bomb after he killed McArthur “Cellium” Jovel.

FaZe followed up Priestahh’s three-piece with five consecutive round wins for a swift Map Two victory and eventual series win. Priestahh owned this entire map. No member of Florida was safe when he was alive. First bloods, mid-round two pieces, final kills, almost every engagement involved Priestahh one way or another. He read Florida like a book and rarely put himself in a vulnerable position for an easy pick.

FaZe Sweep Their Group Play Opponents

In game modes like Hardpoint and Domination, FaZe were successful because of their quick thinking and lightning-fast reflexes. Nobody could match their Search gameplay except Minnesota and maybe Dallas, who both made stellar runs at CDL Los Angeles.

Atlanta did everything right. Despite their loss to Minnesota, their pushes were calculated and coordinated, and everyone was winning their necessary gunfights in the respawns. When there was a play to be made, players like Priestahh had no problem stepping up. It all came down to those final hill rotations and Minnesota was just the better team this weekend.

FaZe have a bye week next week so moving forward, they will be hard at work studying vods and focusing on team scrims so they can come out hot in CDL Chicago. Like Cellium at CDL Atlanta, Priestahh would’ve been a likely contender for the CDL LA MVP if they went the distance. The talent surrounding him gives him the platform to shine, and this season will continue to be a success for him and his team if FaZe remain at the top of their game.
