The Call of Duty League season is already upon us. With that, there are 12 teams that are eager to make their case in order to be the next world championship team. These twelve teams will start off early this month in the first qualification for the first stage in the official start of the league. In that, there can also be predictions made. Here are some predictions for the CDL Major 1 Group Stage.
The surprising team and dark horse for this week will be Seattle. They play the New York Subliners in the first game, which is very winnable. However, they also play in the possible game of the week in playing the Toronto Ultra. If they end up winning that game, it could prove to everyone that Seattle is for real. The team is coming off of a great placement in the Kickoff Classic.
The team of the week will be the Florida Mutineers. This being due to the fact that they will be playing very winnable matches in Paris and London to start the season off, 2-0. The Florida Mutineers will play their best game by dominating both the teams they play, showing other teams that they are a team to not be underestimated.
It is unfortunate for the players on the Paris Legion as they have to play the defending champions in FaZe and one of the hottest teams in Florida to start off the season. FaZe will prove to be too much for the Legion as they do not match up well against them. The Florida Mutineers will also try and hold their own, but fail and eventually start off 0-2 in the year.
The team to look out for will be the Boston Breach. This being due to the fact as they could be 3-0 or 2-1 by the time they play against FaZe, which could be the match to watch for the week. This could give the Call of Duty fans a sense of where Boston Breach truly is in the standings in how they match up against the best team in Call of Duty.
Toronto Ultra is looking to be the team of the week as they could very well be 3-0 by the end of the week. This being due to the fact that they have winnable matchups in Florida and the Los Angeles Guerrillas. This could very well catapult the Ultra into playing great Call of Duty and could use this week to help them play against the best in the league.
Yet again, it could very well be the Paris Legion. This being the case as they get to play one of the hottest teams in the Boston Breach. They also get to play one of the best teams in the game as well in OpTic Texas. By this time, the team could already be 0-4 in the league.
The Los Angeles Thieves will be the team to look out for as, by this time, they could have either been great or sub-par. Regardless of where they are, this week could define how this stage will go for them. If they lose both, it could mean disaster. If they win one and lose one, as expected it will prove that the team will be sub-par. If they win both by winning against the Ultra, it could catapult them into being one of the best teams this season.
The team of the week will be Seattle in that they have to play great matchups in playing Florida and London. This being due to how good they could be the previous weeks going into this week. They have two winnable matches this specific week which is why they could be the team of the week.
This could be a surprising one as it could very well be OpTic Texas. This being due to the fact that they will be playing a red hot team(who usually has their number) in the Toronto Ultra and an exciting Boston Breach team. These matches could very well cause disaster for the OpTic squad if they do indeed lose to these two teams.
Overall, these group stage matches could either be really good or bad in that the matches will all be competitive. This could also be the cause for a lot of surprises and upsets in the league as well. We could very well see another great team or we can see the usual suspects dominated. Whatever the case, it is looking to be a great Major 1.
