Rostermania is back on the menu following the 2023 CDL season. Teams are making moves early and often in hopes to craft the best team heading into the next season. One of the early movers is OpTic Texas, revealing their plans to move on from two members.
On Monday June 26, OpTic announced the release of both Cuyler “Huke” Garland and Dan “Ghosty” Rothe. Both players joined OpTic part way through the 2023 season and helped the team reach Champs. While they ultimately failed to find a spot on the podium, both Ghosty and Huke had solid seasons heading into free agency.
After entering the season with the Los Angeles Guerillas, Huke joined OpTic shortly after leaving LA. The Guerillas signed multiple members from their Challengers team, leaving Huke with the option to remain on the bench or seek a new home. Huke would remain on the starting roster for OpTic for the remainder of the season.

Ghosty joined OpTic after posting several solid results in the CDL Challengers scene with Boston Academy, Tfel Enterprises and Decimate Gaming. Ghosty shined in his rookie year, proving to be a play maker even in the most stressful scenarios.
The two former OpTic players now will be on the hunt for a new roster heading into the next season of the Call of Duty League.
