Minnnesota Rokkr: Who is The Captain of The Team?

Publish Date: February 10, 2020

The Minnesota Rokkr have a well-rounded balance of experience and youth, as mentioned in the team season preview. Every player has talent, but leadership is totally different quality to have and it’s beneficial.

Essentially, a team captain can play a pivotal role as an assistant coach of sorts. Along with Call of Duty veterans Saintt and REPPIN as the coaches, it helps to have a utility blanket.

Although anyone is capable of being a leader, there are two in particular who have both the resume and overall experience to be captains. That would be Assault and SiLLY, who both won a Call of Duty World League Championship together in 2018.

The duo combines for 12 years worth of experience in the competitive Call of Duty scene with SiLLY being the oldest of the Rokkr players. Meanwhile, in that championship victory, Assault came out as the choice of the MVP for the event.

There are two things about these players that give off an aura of leadership. As with most anything in life, there is a physical and mental component.

Assault – The Leader by Performance

As mentioned, the roster is full of talent, but Assault is the perfect example of someone who combines leadership with play. Although GodRx stole the show during Launch Weekend, the AR specialist made his presence known with some clutch kills throughout.

He also has the tendency to heat up like a microwave, and it’s that streakiness that makes him dangerous and others notice. On several occasions, especially in Hardpoint maps, he had several killstreaks and came up big when needed.

This is a great example of someone leading with their play. Although Assault can be vocal as well, his ability has a captain-like presence, and that’s beneficial for the Rokkr.

SiLLY – The Mental Captain

The ship of chemistry is easily steered by SiLLY who is the old head of the team in some ways (sorry, SiLLY) due to his long, steady Call of Duty career. Like Assault, he can lead with his play, but his most underrated trait is his communication skills.

Although talking is highly important in the world of Call of Duty or any other esport, SiLLY does a good job of keeping everyone at bay throughout. Not to mention that, away from the controllers, the Rokkr players seem to have a rock-solid relationship with one another.

SiLLY seems to have helped in that regard, with him being arguably the most vocal of the group. It’s as if he’s a captain and he knows it, and shows it in more ways than one.
