Minnesota ROKKR Home Series has been Postponed

Publish Date: June 4, 2020

The Minnesota ROKKR and Call of Duty have decided to postpone their upcoming home series. The decision was made due to the death of George Floyd, who was murdered by the police in Minneapolis. The ongoing protests that have swept the world also contributed to the final decision.

The team released an official in regards to the decision. The series will be happening on June 12-14. On top of this, proceeds from the tournament will go to social injustice organizations.

Coming into the series, the ROKKR ranked in the top five in the CDL standings. They are only one of five times with a winning record at the moment. They currently sit at 12-10. The series would’ve been the first that’s in their name since Launch Weekend.

This was a very wise move from the Call of Duty League and the ROKKR. And it’s great that, when the event does startup, it will be done for great causes. Players of the team have also gotten involved with some of the movements happening on social media. SiLLY and TTinyy were among them.

The ROKKR will take on Dallas in their first match once the even starts. The last time these two teams met was in the Los Angeles Home Series finals. It was a thrilling match that went all five games. That match also marked the last time the CDL hosted a LAN tournament since the Covid-19 pandemic ceased in-person events.

Again, this was a wise choice from the league, as this is time about seeking peace and justice. And then when things get going again, the power of gaming will help unite others once again. Players, fans, media, and everyone involved will be able to help make a difference, doing what they love on June 12-14.
