Since Major 2, Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal has been suffering from a persistent thumb injury, and after another setback, a roster change was made. With the season almost over, Byron “Prolute” is temporarily stepping back into the OpTic Texas roster for Major 4.

During their time without iLLeY, OpTic has been very inconsistent in qualifying matches and at the Major event. Although placing well during the Major 3 qualifying matches, the event turned out to be the complete opposite. Only being able to place T-6 was a disappointing finish for the supporters of the green wall.
However, even though the OpTic fans hated seeing their team get bounced early. It was only a matter of time before they got their leader in iLLeY back. Everyone was hoping his addition to the roster would bring them back to form.
Should OpTic Texas move on from iLLeY at this point in the season and focus on a roster without him? Because at this point, the uncertainty of his return negatively affects the team.
Whether iLLeY is playing or not, OpTic has not looked good at the start of Major 4. Their talent allows them to compete with teams, but it won’t carry them to championships anymore. As the league gets increasingly competitive, reducing mistakes, having good comms, and playing the right way will separate the great teams from the good ones.
In these last two matches, they have done everything but that. Communication seems to be a problem; without iLLeY, their map pool appears to have been minimized, and overall sloppy gameplay. They are struggling to beat bottom-tier teams on smaller maps like Bocage. With players like Shottzy and Scump on your roster, that shouldn’t be happening and with a poor performance in these past matches, even giving up a reverse sweep to the Boston Breach. Does OpTic think that this roster can clutch up and win championships in the future?
OpTic is no stranger to making moves to ensure they compete until Champs. Breaking up the dynasty in WWII and dropping fan favorites over the years shows they care about winning over everything.
If this OpTic Texas roster can’t get it together during this Major, expect changes in the future.
