Ohio State University head into the College Call of Duty regular season being ranked the number one team in the College Call of Duty Preseason Power Rankings. Ohio State has one of the top multi-gaming esport organizations at a collegiate level and they are looking to bring this into College COD. This was reflected by the university winning the first-ever “Fan Favorite Collegiate Esports Team of the Year“.

Their veteran core has helped them make the finals of both preseason tournaments. OSU’s performances in both preseason tournaments let the CCL know that Ohio State University comes with intent for Season One.
The team is led by CCL veteran Adam “Advizer” Cole who began to play competitive Call of Duty during the World War II season alongside fellow Ohio State teammate Tyler “TSickiLL” Stiers. The two players began to improve as they practiced through Ranked Play and studied pro-player VODs.
As the pair continued to improve, Advizer read a post on Reddit made by Sergio “Physix” Brack which talked about the CCL. After reaching out to the Ole Miss Call of Duty Captain, Advizer was invited into the College Call of Duty server. Initial struggles with recruitment meant that the two Ohio State players would team with Vortex and SarahNightFall as CCL Green for Season Zero. The team complemented each other well and improved as the season went on. They made it their goal to be the team who practiced the most. With this, CCL Green finished Season Zero taking second place.
As Season Zero neared its end, two players contacted Advizer for a chance to represent Ohio State University. These players were Wes “DatDudeWP” Perry and Brandon “WoollE_” Woolley. The two players had vast experience within Call of Duty but did not have competitive experience. Advizer played with each player individually and noticed that the players were hungry and looked to improve. Advizer welcomed both players to the Ohio State University Call of Duty active roster.
The Ohio State University’s Esports Organization helped make the process of building a Call of Duty roster much easier. They were able to recruit several more players which now gives the roster flexibility through schedules. The current fifth player to fill the spot is Christan “Momentus” Rogger. Momentus came into the roster with previous competitive experience following events such as MLG Columbus 2014 and UMG Philadelphia 2014.

Ohio State seems to be the best team heading into Season One. Their vast knowledge in Search and Destroy followed by strong respawn performances has propelled them over the competition. Advizer and the team will look to fix any mistakes before the real competition begins. Their loss to Grossmont Community College in the 2nd 2K made them hungry to improve.
-A brief conversation with Adam “Advizer” Cole on how he felt about the Ohio State Roster and the College Call of Duty League.
What are your goals heading into Season One as the number one seed?
“I think our team is the best in the league. We have a lot of individual skill on this team and any player can pop off at any moment. I do think our team plays pretty “streaky” though, so we are definitely beatable. We saw that in the 2nd 2k (our full team wasn’t playing though, unfortunately). I think as long as we practice consistently and don’t fall behind in terms of playing together as a team, we should be a top team in the league. We are hoping to get a lot of good practice in before the season starts and I’m looking forward to the start of the real competition.”
