Major 1 is finally here. Which, in turn, could be one of the most anticipated majors in CDL’s history. With that, there are a lot of people within the community who are ready to see how all the teams stack up in this upcoming major. That being said, here are the CDL power rankings for Major 1.
It’s FaZe. Enough said. No, but seriously, although they started off a little slow at the beginning of the season. They did start to pick up as Cellium is having the time of his life, frying the competition. With Simp getting into his own after a rough start, FaZe is looking to prove to everybody why they are still the #1 team in the world.
After an interesting start in the Kickoff. London came out with a bang with breakout stars in Gismo and Nastie. They are looking to prove everybody wrong this major as Zer0, the veteran, leads them into this tournament. This team could very well surprise a lot of people and finally, bring home a trophy.
With Kenny, anything is possible. The way he plays with this new team is truly out of this world. However, the route man himself, Envoy, could be the X-Factor that the Thieves need to bring home their first trophy as a franchise. Coming off a great 4-1 start, they are looking to beat the powerhouse in FaZe, whom they lost to, to prove to everyone that they can be #1.
This team had possibly one of the worst starts in their history. They started off the season with three straight losses. Two of which were round 11, map 5 losses. Scump started off great but has fallen off a bit. It doesn’t matter though as Shotzzy, iLLeY, and Dashy are getting used to playing with one another as they are on a 3 game winning streak.
They are coming off a really hot start. Starting 3-0 with a second-place finish in the Kickoff Classic. After flashy plays from Sib and Pred, the Surge began with 3 great games in a row. However, after tough losses coming into the major, can Accuracy and company lead Seattle to victory in this major?
The Ultra, so far, has had an up and down year. It is especially due to the fact that Cammy had little to no practice as he was absent for a bit due to him getting COVID. The Ultra is still looking dangerous, however, as they have been having good scrims and practices going into the major. With Insight the only one to be positive throughout five matches, he could be the X-Factor to lead Toronto to a Major 1 win.
#7 Boston Breach – this team, with the leader in Methodz and the young gunny of Capsidal, this team can turn a lot of heads this upcoming major.
#8 Los Angeles Guerrillas – If Huke and Asim play like how we are used to seeing them play, this team could very well take it and create a lot of chaos in the tournament.
#9 Minnesota ROKKR – Standy is playing great. However, Priestahh is the one that ROKKR fans are hoping to see play better. If he plays better, the team might be a force to be reckoned with.
#10 Florida Mutineers – This team is either really good or really bad. It is literally a toss-up as to see what they will do against teams. If they do play lights out as they did against the Surge, we could see Florida make a good run in the tournament.
#11 New York Subliners – Not expecting much. With a new roster, it could be much of the same. However, things are looking up as they are beginning to play more as a team. If the teamwork is there, we might see good losers run from the Subliners.
#12 Paris Legion – They have a new roster, finally. However, the community is not expecting much from the Paris Legion as they have struggled to find their way being 0-5.
