CDL London – Day 1 Domination for the Chicago Huntsmen

Publish Date: February 9, 2020

After their strong performance in Minnesota, the Chicago Huntsmen have not skipped a beat since then coming out with a dominating performance on day 1 in London. The Chicago Huntsmen took out the Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-0 and the Dallas Empire 3-1.

From the first map to the last the Chicago Huntsmen put on an impressive slaying performance. In Call of Duty, kill-death (“KD”) ratio measures how many kills a player has compared to their deaths. Adjusted-KD (“aKD”) places more weight to kills earned in the Search and Destroy game mode, given there are fewer gunfights than in respawn game modes. Four of the five members of Chicago were in the top ten for aKD on day 1. Scump and Envoy put on a show, earning the highest aKDs of the day. Envoy had the most impressive performance of the day for Chicago on map 4 in the Dallas Empire series with a 30-12 performance with 2:55 of time in the hardpoint.

Kept Composure

Although the Huntsmen only lost one map on day 1, there were times when Chicago had their backs against the wall. In the first match of the day, the LA Guerrillas were in great shape to make a comeback in Domination. As time expired, the Huntsmen were slowly losing the lead they built. When it mattered most, the team kept their composure and got key kills to maintain the lead and close out the series. In the second series of the day, Chicago found themselves down 0-3 and 3-5 in Search in Destroy. Both easy places to panic, the Huntsmen remained calm and pulled off the round 11 win. Both of these were key moments to Chicago’s success on day 1

Day 2

The Huntsmen earned a spot in the semifinals for day 2 and will play the winner from Losers Group B. Chicago will play the Paris Legion, Toronto Ultra or New York Subliners. If the Chicago Huntsmen continue to perform similar to Minnesota and day 1, they will be a hard team to beat.
