Call of Duty League Stage Five Major Preview

Publish Date: July 29, 2021

Call of Duty League Stage Five Major begins today with a match between the Paris Legion and the Seattle Surge in the elimination bracket. Atlanta FaZe has the opportunity to win their third major in a row. The Toronto Ultra and Dallas Empire are neck and neck in the standings.

Atlanta FaZe With Chance to Win Three in a Row

With the Call of Duty League Stage Five Major starting today, the Atlanta FaZe have the opportunity to win their third in a row and fourth this season. The team has secured first place with 505 points, over 140 ahead of second place.

The Atlanta FaZe have been dominating this whole season. After losing in the championship round in 2020, they were fueled to return. In Stage Four, they managed to secure the first seed in the playoffs, well before any other team. The team has an impressive match win rate. The Atlanta FaZe have an 87.2 percent win rate, with an impressive 71.7 percent game win rate. They are also one of two teams to have over 100 game wins, the other being the Toronto Ultra. This year’s run is impressive, and the Stage Five Major can make their dominance stand out even more.

The Atlanta FaZe can win their fourth major, and they might have an easy path to the finals. Their first match is against the Minnesota Rokkr. Although the Minnesota Rokkr are middle of the pack, they don’t stand much of a chance against the Atlanta FaZe. Similar to most teams, the Minnesota Rokkr have not won against the Atlanta FaZe this season. The test for the Atlanta FaZe will be in the second round against the Dallas Empire. These two teams faced off in the final for the Stage Four Major in a nine-game match. As long as the Atlanta FaZe win this match, they can win the Stage Five Major.

The Atlanta FaZe face off against the Minnesota Rokkr today at 6:00PM ET.

Toronto Ultra and Dallas Empire Fight for Second Place

The Toronto Ultra and Dallas Empire have been neck-and-neck ever since Stage Three. The two teams are battling it out for the final time in the regular season for second place. The Dallas Empire sit just five points ahead of the Toronto Ultra.

There are many scenarios for each team to secure second place. However, the most likely scenario for the Toronto Ultra to pull ahead is if they win one more game than the Dallas Empire and place ahead of them. The Toronto Ultra would have to win against the Los Angeles Thieves and OpTic Chicago to guarantee a slot in the fourth round. On the other hand, the Dallas Empire have an uphill battle in their bracket. Barring an upset by the Minnesota Rokkr, they will face the Atlanta FaZe. The Dallas Empire have not won against the Atlanta FaZe this season. Although they beat them in the championship in 2020, the Atlanta FaZe have been dominant. The Dallas Empire would need to win in the third round to keep ahead in the standings.

Even though the Dallas Empire have a tough second round, they can still easily finish ahead of the Toronto Ultra. If they don’t win against the Atlanta FaZe, they will face either the London Royal Ravens and the winner of Round 1. They can make it to round four and still finish ahead of the Toronto Ultra. The Toronto Ultra face the Los Angeles Thieves today at 7:30PM ET. The Dallas Empire face the winner of Altanta FaZe and Minnesota Rokkr on Friday, July 30 at 6:00PM ET.
