Best Weapons to Use in Warzone

Publish Date: April 4, 2020

The best weapons to use in Call of Duty: Warzone usually include an Assault Rifle, a Submachine Gun or a Sniper of some kind. When a loadout drop is purchased or spawned, be aware of map placement and situational circumstances. The loadout of choice should be well-balanced for all engagement types, and the attachments should be tailored to a player’s play style.

Best Weapons to Use in Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone works a lot differently than a typical Multiplayer match. It is a Battle Royale, which means players must search the map for resources and fight it out to be the last person standing. One of the most important tools a player can utilize is a loadout drop. A loadout drop allows individuals to secure their customized classes to use in-game. This has many advantages because, with the right class, a custom gun is almost always better than a looted one.

Every weapon comes with five attachment slots and five modification toggles. These toggles represent the gun’s accuracy, damage, range, fire rate, mobility and control. When an attachment is added, these toggles will change depending on the pros and cons listed under each attachment. The higher the weapon level, the more attachments players will have available.

To create the perfect weapon, players should look for the attachments that work best for their play style and skill level. Attachments are separated by Muzzle, Barrel, Laser, Optic, Stock, Underbarrel, Ammunition, Rear Grip and Perk and will vary depending on the gun and gun type. When choosing a weapon, whether it is from this list or personal preference, be sure to go through each attachment to see how it affects the gun.

Here is a list of the best and most popular weapons to use in Call of Duty: Warzone. Included is an attachment guide for the top weapon of each class according to engagement style.

Assault Rifles

Assault Rifles make for a great primary weapon because of their dynamic range. The majority are fully automatic except for the FR 5.56 (3 round burst) and the FAL (semi-automatic).

  1. M4A1
    • Short Range
      • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
      • Barrel: FSS 11.5″ Commando
      • Optic: G.I. Mini Reflex
      • Stock: No Stock
      • Under-barrel: Merc Foregrip
    • Medium Range
      • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
      • Barrel: Corvus Custom Marksmen
      • Optic: G.I. Mini Reflex
      • Stock: FORGE TAX CQS
      • Under-barrel: Commando Foregrip
    • Long Range
      • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
      • Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier
      • Optic: Thermal Hybrid
      • Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape
      • Under-barrel: Tactical Foregrip
  2. Grau 5.56
  3. M13

Submachine Guns

Slightly less powerful than an AR, the SMG makes up for it with its mobility and smooth handling. SMGs are intermittent, which means that their range is sporadic and heavily reliant on attachments.

      • Under-barrel: Merc Foregrip
      • Perk: Sleight of Hand
    • Long Range
      • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
      • Rear Grip: Granulated Grip Tape

      • Under-barrel: Ranger Foregrip
      • Perk: FMJ
  2. AUG
  3. MP7

Shotguns

Shotguns have a low fire rate and are not very effective at longer ranges. For maximum effectiveness, they should only be used at point blank range.

LMGs

LMGs are great for slower players. Because of the weapon’s weight, expect low mobility and high control.

  1. PKM
    • Medium Range
      • Muzzle: Flash Guard
      • Barrel: 18.2″ Compact Barrel
      • Optic: Operator Reflex Sight

      • Rear Grip: Granulated Grip Tape

Marksmen Rifles

Fully loaded Marksmen Rifles can be looted around the map and sit right in between a Sniper Rifle and an AR. This means they have the range of a Sniper Rifle and the mobility of an AR. While that may seem like a good thing, the Marksmen Rifles in Modern Warfare are best kept for Multiplayer and not Warzone.

  1. MK2 Carbine
    •  Medium Range
      • Muzzle: Flash Guard
      • Stock: MK2 Ultralight Hollow
      • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
      • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic

        • Stock: FSS MK2 Precision Comb
        • Under-barrel: Merc Foregrip

Sniper Rifles

In BR Squads, at the very minimum, one player on the team should be running a Sniper Rifle. That way, all the angles are covered.
