Atlanta Unveils New UnFaZed Series

Publish Date: March 14, 2020

Atlanta unveils new UnfaZed series in what will be a multi-episode YouTube compilation. These episodes will contain an inside look behind the scenes of the Atlanta Faze. Here is what fans can expect from Atlanta’s latest content drop.

New UnFaZed Series

Still in its early stages of production, UnFaZed gives Atlanta fans their own behind the scenes look at their favorite players. Whether it is a match montage, a FaZe member cameo or a player interview, hours of content are available to binge across all platforms.

Despite a devastating loss at CDL LA, Atlanta dominated the previous weekend at the Atlanta Home Series and won their first championship in front of their hometown. This feat was well documented in Atlanta’s latest UnFaZed episode, Episode Two. It highlights everything that happened at CDL Atlanta in under 26 minutes, including Tyler “aBezy” Pharris hot streak against the London Royal Ravens.

Michael “MajorManiak” Syzmaniak discussed his return to MainStage under Atlanta and what it meant to perform well in front of his home crowd. In the episode, he said, “It’s a good feeling knowing you have the home crowd behind you and those locals that really support you.”

Preston “Priestahh” Greiner also had something to say on the expectations he had going into the first match against Optic at CDL Atlanta. He “had just teamed with Kenny and Slasher on 100 Thieves so [he had a reason to want] to beat them even more” and secure a championship for Atlanta.

UnFaZed did a great job of balancing player thoughts, the reverse sweep against the Minnesota Rokkr, and key plays to victory. Their ability to piece together all types of content making it fun and exciting will be important moving forward especially now that the league is online only.

CDL Moves Competition Online

All CDL LAN events, including the Challenger League events, have been cancelled. Teams have shifted their focus online where the remainder of their matches will be played. The next CDL series has yet to be announced but will likely take place in the next few weeks. As stated on the Call of Duty League website, “The Call of Duty League 2020 season will continue. Online Call of Duty League matches will be broadcast live on [their] YouTube Channel. Dates and times will be announced shortly.” Their decision came yesterday after growing fears over the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Few details have been given, but the latest changes are expected to have little effect on the viewing experience for fans at home. Due to the travel restrictions in place, teams will likely remain in their home cities as opposed to the previous year’s league play, where they would play crowd-less in one consistent city.

This change is a necessary one, but it will be challenging to oversee because of how different Online is versus LAN. Without a stable connection from each of the players and a neutral host, the series may be chalked before it begins. There are so many other variables that can go into online play that the CDL can’t account for remotely, so it will be interesting to see how they transition.
