Deondre Francois Transfers to Florida Atlantic

Former Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois has decided to transfer to Florida Atlantic he told 247sports.com.

Francois was kicked off the team at Florida State in February after a video surfaced that was posted by his girlfriend. An article released by Yahoo Sports explained the situation: “Francois, a two-year starter at quarterback for Florida State, was dismissed by FSU in February after his girlfriend posted disturbing video of a man and a woman fighting. In the video, the man, purportedly Francois, threatens to assault the woman and hit her in the face. Francois, who faced previous legal trouble during his time in Tallahassee, was booted from the FSU program a day after the video surfaced.”

The Owls will have Francois immediately, as he has graduated. He will have two years to play at Florida Atlantic.

Francois has thrown for 6,291 yards, 36 touchdowns and 21 interceptions on 58 percent completion in his career. He will have an opportunity to start, as returning starter Chris Robison is currently suspended for a sexual assault accusation.

Florida Atlantic went 5-7 last season under Kiffin and will be looking to return to their 2017 form, when they won 11 games.
