Denver Broncos Injury Report Heading Into Week 8

Let’s take a look at some of the injuries the Denver Broncos have dealt with throughout the 2026 NFL season, looking at both sides of the ball and who is out short- and long-term.

The Broncos enter Week 8 with a 5-2 record and will face their divisional rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, at home on Sunday as they aim to close the gap on first place in the AFC West.

Notable Injuries Throughout the Season

The most notable injuries for the Broncos this season have been in their secondary, with two of their best defensive players, Pat Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga, both dealing with ankle injuries.

Surtain suffered his ankle injury during Denver’s Week 4 game against the 49ers and has been sidelined since. The All-Pro cornerback was a limited participant throughout Week 7 but returned to full participation this week. He carries no injury designation and is expected to return against Kansas City, which is a huge boost for the Broncos’ defense.

Hufanga, on the other hand, suffered his ankle injury during Denver’s Week 5 victory over the Chargers and has missed the Broncos’ last two games. He didn’t practice this week and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game.

Week 8 Injury Updates

The Broncos have ruled out two players for Sunday’s game and listed four others as questionable.

Along with Hufanga, running back RJ Harvey has been ruled out after suffering a knee injury during the week. Harvey was added to the injury report Thursday as a limited participant but did not practice Friday.

Defensive lineman Zach Allen, offensive tackle Garett Bolles, safety Brandon Jones and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle are all listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. All four were limited participants Friday, and their availability will be determined closer to game day.

We’ll see if the Broncos can get back to full health for their huge divisional matchup against the Chiefs, but the biggest news for Denver this week is the return of Surtain, who immediately strengthens a Denver secondary that relies heavily on man-to-man coverage.
