Deadlock is a third-person Hero Shooter MOBA currently in development by Valve and is currently in an invite-only closed state. After over a year in this state, many are curious when the game is actually coming out, and what we can expect in terms of an Open Beta or release date for Deadlock. Here’s everything we know so far.
Currently, Valve developers have not indicated a release date for Deadlock, making it difficult to know when the game will actually go live to the masses. However, we can speculate a bit about this, thanks to rumors and leaks that we have covered previously.
Rumors have suggested that the next major patch for Deadlock could bring the game into an Open Beta state; however, we cannot confirm this to be true. This patch is likely to come out in January 2026, according to developers, but may be delayed.

Out best guess? Deadlock will be released sometime in 2026, perhaps around the release of Steam’s new console, the Steam Machine, which is also being produced by Valve
Until Deadlock eventually releases, you can only play and access the game with an invite. You can get this from a friend who has the game or through community forums like Reddit or Discord, where there are many players willing to share an invite.
Otherwise, stay tuned as we prepare for the game’s next large update, which is set to feature several new Heroes and a new game mode, and its potential release. We will continue to provide updates as they arise.
