Capacitor has a nasty active that strips buffs and pins targets down in Deadlock, making it one of the most unique Weapon Items on the board. Used well, it turns chaotic skirmishes into clean picks.
Tab / Cost: Weapon, 6,400 souls (upgrades from Tesla Bullets).
Passive (chain shock): Every 0.25s your shots can shock for spirit damage, chaining up to 6 times, ~20% proc chance, larger jump radius than Tesla.
Active (40s CD): Fire a projectile that removes all non-ultimate buffs from the target and applies a very strong slow that decays over ~5s (practically a root at the start), plus a small burst of spirit damage.
TL;DR: It’s Tesla Bullets ++ with a buff remover you can aim at a key target.
Prioritize heroes who already like Tesla Bullets and/or can convert a locked-down target into a kill.
Great candidates
Haze, Wraith – high ROF, constant bullet tagging, reliable follow-up.
Infernus, Ivy – gun-centric variants that benefit from AoE chaining in fights.
Vindicta (hybrid/trapper) – pairs active with traps/alchemical setups.
Warden (hybrid) – uses the active to stick and finish with ult/gun.
Rule of thumb: If your build has some spirit investment (so the shock hurts) and you value pick tools, Capacitor fits.

Buff-heavy enemies. The active strips many common green-tab effects (heals over time, speed buffs, defensive shields, sustain auras, etc.). Into teams leaning on endurance tools, Capacitor blunts their mid-fight resets.
One key form or stance to break. Use it to knock targets out of movement paths/forms or to remove sticky survivability buffs before your burst.
You already have Tesla Bullets. The 3,200 → 6,400 upgrade is efficient if you’ll land actives consistently.
Synergies
Transcendent Cooldown (TC): cuts the 40s item CD, letting you dispel more often.
Follow-up CC (dome, hook, stomp): use Capacitor first, then layer control while the target is slowed and stripped.
Lead your shot. It’s a projectile: aim slightly ahead of strafing targets; fire as they commit (after jumps/dashes).
Dispel first, burst second. Strip heals/speeds/defenses, then commit damage/CC.
Play angles. Peek from cover, tag with Capacitor, then swing with your team.
Don’t forget the passive. In scrums, the chain lightning softens clumps and reveals value even between activations.
Mostly situational. It fights for a premium weapon slot versus raw DPS items.
Near-core in Tesla-centric, spirit-leaning gun builds (e.g., some Wraith/Haze pages) and in metas where dispelling green-item value decides fights.
Low priority in pure-weapon, zero-spirit builds that won’t leverage the shock damage and can’t reliably land the active.

Capacitor is excellent in the right hands and lobbies: the dispel + heavy slow is unique and fight-warping. If you can consistently hit the projectile and your comp capitalizes on picks, the 6,400 souls are well spent. If you’re unlikely to connect—or your build ignores spirit—stick with Tesla Bullets or choose more straightforward DPS/defense.
