There have been a few major leaks recently coming through from Deadlock, but none are more clear-cut than the recent Base and Patron overhaul leaks. Let’s take a look at everything we know so far, including a full video breakdown from our Deadlock YouTube channel, Dead Unlocked.
The Deadlock community was shaken by a flurry of leaks unveiling what appears to be one of the game’s most ambitious overhauls yet. The information includes a full base rework, HUD redesign, and major Patron changes that may redefine the game’s visual and structural identity.
According to the leaks, the new base features a completely overhauled Patron — described as a horned figure — with two exits, each housing a shop and healing station. The familiar zip lines have reportedly been merged into one before splitting into three lanes, simplifying movement and flow. The exits now sit on elevated platforms, and two fans have been placed near the tier-three towers for additional vertical motion options.
The HUD has also been reimagined. The traditional “Amber Hand” and opposing faction names are being replaced with the Deer and Star teams, while a total net worth tracker will now appear at the top of the screen. Fans have described the new interface as sleeker and more readable, suggesting Valve is leaning further into a refined, competitive aesthetic.
Adding credibility to the surge of leaks, a translated interview with Valve insider GabeFollower offers insight into the studio’s current focus. According to the interview, Deadlock is Valve’s number-one priority, surpassing even Dota 2 and Counter-Strike in development focus. Gabe Follower noted that Valve’s overlapping teams — including developers from Team Fortress and Dota — are collaborating closely on the project.

The insider emphasized Valve’s commitment to long-term design philosophy, aiming to create a title players will engage with for “10 or 20 years.” While a release window remains uncertain, Gabe Follower cautioned that the game might not fully launch for at least another one to two years, despite its eight years in development.
Valve reportedly intends to co-develop Deadlock alongside its community, incorporating direct player feedback through Discord and in-game testing — a major shift from the studio’s traditionally opaque development style.
Between the newly leaked base design, potential hero remodels, and Valve’s reaffirmed dedication to the project, Deadlock appears to be in the midst of a major transition. The leaks paint a picture of a game maturing toward its final form — one that blends innovation, competitive depth, and community-driven design.
While no official announcements have confirmed these developments, the scale and polish of the leaked assets suggest that Deadlock’s next phase could be closer than expected, setting the stage for one of Valve’s most ambitious multiplayer releases in years.
