How to Lane With Your Party in Deadlock: Duo Laning Guide

Publish Date: March 23, 2026

If you’re queueing Deadlock with a friend and wondering why you’re not ending up in lane together, there’s actually a setting you need to change first. Once you fix that, duo laning becomes one of the best ways to learn the game and win more consistently.

How to Lane With Your Duo in Deadlock

Once you are in a party with your friends in Deadlock, open the cogwheel at the top of your screen. This will open the Party Settings menu, where you can make the change needed.

From there, use the Lane Preference dropdown and swap from Balanced to With Party.

This ensures you and your duo, or someone from your party, are placed in the same lane when possible. If you don’t do this, the game may split you up even if you queued together.

Why Duo Laning Matters

Playing with a partner removes a lot of randomness from the early game. You can coordinate fights, cover mistakes, and build momentum faster. This is also great for newer players, as the early game can be intimidating to learn without proper communication.

If you’re learning Deadlock or trying to climb, duo laning is one of the easiest ways to improve quickly.
