Deadlock City Never Sleeps Full Patch Notes: New Map, 6 Heroes, The Broker and More
The official Deadlock Rat King Release Date has been confirmed as Friday, October 2, 2026 at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET.
His release date will depend on where Rat King finishes in the City Never Sleeps fan vote. Valve is releasing two of the six new heroes each week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET. Once Rat King’s release date is revealed, this article will be updated.
Until then, below are all of the dates that he could be released along with our prediction for which date Rat King will grace The Cursed Apple.
The release order for Rat King and the other five City Never Sleeps heroes is being decided by Deadlock players through the new fan voting system.
Voting takes place in the Pregame lobby. Players can vote for the hero they want to see released next, and votes from players on the winning team are worth double. A player’s first win of the day also provides double voting power.

If we had to predict the Rat King’s Deadlock Release Date, we would say Friday, October 2, 2026 at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET.
That is correct, we do believe that he will be the first new hero added. This is mainly due to the fact that fans have been excited about Rat King for some time. His design is spectacular and there is little doubt that his abilities will be just as interesting.
Based on the early reaction to the City Never Sleeps reveal, we expect Rat King to receive plenty of votes. Of course, this is only our prediction. The actual Rat King release date will be decided by the Deadlock community vote.

We will continue updating both that article and this one as each new hero is officially confirmed.
