Deadlock Matchmaking fix patch reportedly coming soon

Publish Date: March 23, 2026

Deadlock’s most criticized system, matchmaking, might finally be getting the attention it needs. After months of inconsistent games, uneven ranks, and long queue frustrations, new claims suggest that matchmaking improvements could be arriving very soon, possibly as early as this week.

If true, this would be one of the most impactful updates the game has seen outside of major content drops.

Deadlock Matchmaking Changes Rumored

According to recent claims, a new Deadlock patch is being prepared that focuses on matchmaking fixes, quality of life updates, and backend optimizations. The biggest detail here is that developers have reportedly gathered a massive amount of new data from a fresh group of testers, which could directly inform these changes.

Deadlock Matchmaking Fix Incoming?! Everything We Know

And honestly, this lines up with what we’ve been seeing.

There have already been smaller behind-the-scenes tweaks like adjustments to new player ranking, fixes to queue times, and responses from developers about rank disparity issues. Matchmaking has been actively worked on, even if the results haven’t fully landed yet.

Right now, matchmaking is probably Deadlock’s weakest link. Ranked games can feel inconsistent, there’s no true “safe” environment to test builds, and player skill ranges can vary wildly from match to match.

Rumor: New Deadlock Neutral Objective in Development

If this update delivers even modest improvements—tighter matchmaking, more consistent games, or better queue logic—that’s a massive win for the player experience.

Rumor: Deadlock Skins and Cosmetics already in development

Whether it drops this week or slightly later, all signs point to matchmaking being a top priority. And if Deadlock is gearing up for a bigger release window, this is exactly the kind of system that needs to be cleaned up next.
