David West retires from the NBA

David West has to decided to retire after 15 NBA seasons in a statement released on social media Thursday.

West posted this message to his followers:

West spent eight seasons with the New Orleans Hornets, four with the Indiana Pacers, one with the San Antonio Spurs and capped off his career with the Golden State Warriors for two years.

In his career, he totaled 14,034 points, 6,590 rebounds, 2,273 assists and 764 steals. He shot 49.5% from the field for his career.

West made two All-Star teams while with the Hornets in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009. He helped the Warriors win the NBA Finals the last two seasons with veteran leadership off the bench.
