NFL Draft Prospects To Watch In The Cure Bowl

Publish Date: December 17, 2016

Many people don’t know it, but both UCF and Arkansas State have produced good NFL talent and the list of names goes way further than Blake Bortles. There are a lot of names that will be familiar in this game, that can make it to the NFL. Here are the prospects from the Cure Bowl to watch:

Arkansas State Red Wolves

Money Hunter, S

Projected draft range: sixth round-undrafted free agent

Yes, this is the coolest name in college football. Yes, he is former MLB player Torii Hunter’s son. Yes, he is Notre Dame wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr.’s younger brother. He may be overshadowed by his dad and brother (who has finished his football career to focus on baseball), but Money can play. His main attribute is his athleticism and help in the run game. He has a lot of solo tackles for a safety and isn’t afraid to hit. He will have to prove that he can cover better receivers to make it at the next level.

Dee Liner, DT

Projected draft range: Seventh round-undrafted free agent

Another great name for the Red Wolves and a fitting one. Many fans have heard of Liner because of his time at Alabama. He is only a junior, but could leave for the NFL draft. His main asset is his run stopping ability with seven tackles for loss. Liner isn’t the best pass rusher, but can take on double teams to free up other rushers.

Central Florida Knights

Shaquill Griffin, CB

Projected draft range: Sixth round-undrafted free agent

Griffin’s biggest asset is his versatility. He can play both corner and safety, which is increasingly important because scouts love players who can do multiple things and play different positions. With 11 passes defended and three interceptions, he is a good cover corner. He needs to tackle better and help in the run to be able to play safety in the NFL, but his coverage will give him a chance.
