NFL Draft Prospects to Watch in the 2016 Liberty Bowl

Publish Date: December 30, 2016

TCU and Georgia will be playing in the 2016 AutoZone Liberty bowl. Both teams have produced a lot of NFL talent, but there won’t be many players drafted from either school this season. There are some prospects in this game though. Here are the best NFL prospects from this game:

Georgia Bulldogs

Dominick Sanders, S

Projected Draft Range: fourth round-sixth round

Sanders is six feet tall and 193 pounds, which isn’t the biggest for a safety, but adequate. He doesn’t help in the running game that often, with only 31 total tackles on the season. Sanders specializes in pass coverage. He is probably versatile enough to play free safety and slot corner. Teams will have to weigh how much they want a safety that won’t be able to help much in the run, but Sanders at the very least can be a situational player that can playing in passing situations.

Greg Pyke, OG

Projected Draft Range: Sixth round-undrafted free agent

Pyke has tremendous size at six feet six inches and 325 pounds. He has successfully cleared the way for Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, while also keeping Jacob Eason pretty clean. Pyke will have a good chance to prove his worth in this bowl game, as TCU has a lot of good defensive linemen.

TCU Horned Frogs

Josh Carraway, DE

Projected Draft Range: Third round-fourth round

Carraway has been really productive this season with eight sacks. He has eleven tackles for a loss too. At six feet four inches and 250 pounds, he will be able to match-up with a lot of NFL offensive lineman. Carraway doesn’t stop the run very well, but can be an effective pass rusher at the next level.

Aaron Curry, DT

Projected Draft Range: Seventh round-undrafted free agent

Curry is undersized for a defensive tackle, at 275 pounds, which will not help him get drafted. He is a good pass rusher from the interior with 4.5 sacks on the year. Curry may get drafted, but he will need to fight to make an NFL roster. His ability to stop Nick Chubb and the Georgia running game can help his stock.
