The Bahamas Bowl is a game between the Ohio Bobcats and UAB Blazers. There are not many draft prospects in the game, but there are some to look out for. Here are the top NFL Draft prospects in the 2017 Bahamas Bowl:
UAB Blazers
With UAB’s program resurrection, they don’t have any draft eligible players that are likely to be in high demand yet.
Ohio Bobcats
Quentin Poling, LB
Poling is a tackle machine who has four years of playing time under his belt. He has 368 career total tackles, 18 sacks and seven interceptions. The past two seasons he has had over 100 tackles a season and became one of the best defensive players in the MAC.
Height will be an issue for poling who is listed at 6’0”, but is likely a little shorter. He is 235 pounds, which is good enough for the NFL. Poling likely won’t be drafted, but will sign on as an undrafted free agent. He looks like a player who would fit in well on special teams.
Projected draft range: 6TH round-undrafted free agent
Troy Mangen, TE
Mangen will have a shot to make a team, but he hasn’t produced a lot in college. He has 416 receiving yards and four touchdowns in his career. In his defense, he has played in a run heavy offense this season and hasn’t been able to fully show his potential.
With the lack of production, Mangen is sought after because of his size and potential. He is 6’6” and 258 pounds, which puts him in a good position for the NFL. Because he didn’t produce much in college, he is going to have to do well in workouts.
Projected draft range: undrafted free agent
Jake Pruehs, C
Pruehs was recently named Second Team All-Mac as an offensive lineman. To go along with that, Pruehs was on the Outland and Rimington Trophy watchlists. He started in every game in his junior season and got playing time before that.
Because he is a center, size won’t be too much of an issue. He is 6’1” and 316 pounds. If he shows he can block well against good competition and do well in workouts he will get a shot as an undrafted free agent.
Projected draft range: undrafted free agent
