It is 10 weeks into the fantasy football season and the waiver wire is heating up. Any good champion will need to go to the waiver wire to acquire players to make their team even better. Here are the Fantasy Football: players to add for week 11. (All stats and rankings are for standard, non-decimal scoring)
1. Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks’ first-round pick finally started living up to the hype this week in a close matchup with the Rams. Penny had 12 carries for 108 yards and scored his first career touchdown. He was explosive and made good reads of where he needed to run the ball.
Chris Carson was banged up and held out of this week’s game. Mike Davis has played well sporadically, but the Seahawks really need someone to step up. They drafted Penny with the intention of giving him a lot of work, but it hasn’t panned out yet. He may have earned more chances now. Penny is available in 87% of ESPN leagues.
2. Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans
A lot of fantasy owners have dropped Derrick Henry, but it might be time to start thinking about picking him back up. He had 11 carries for 52 yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots on Sunday.
There are still question marks of whether Henry will get the ball enough or be productive enough when he does get the ball to make him not worthy of starting. Henry will still split carries with fellow running back Dion Lewis. He is, however, fully worthy of being on fantasy rosters in almost any format. He is available in about 50% of ESPN leagues
3. Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Godwin has been on this list several times throughout the year. He has had to deal with a few quarterback changes and his production has changed as a result. With Ryan Fitzpatrick back in at starter, Godwin is worth owning. This week he posted seven catches for 103 yards.
He is ranked the 34th receiver in standard formats. There is some competition for targets on the Bucs’ roster, but Fitzpatrick does a good job of moving the offense and keeping multiple receivers involved. Godwin is available in over 50% of ESPN leagues.
4. Jeff Heuerman, TE, Denver Broncos
The Broncos were on a bye this week, but Heuerman stepped up in week 9. He had a whopping 10 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown against Houston and should be able to keep the production up.
It looks like without Demaryius Thomas, Heuerman will be one of the main targets for Case Keenum to throw to for the rest of the season. He didn’t do much before week 9, but stepped up when the team needed him most. Heuerman is available in virtually every ESPN league.
5. Nick Vannett, TE, Seattle Seahawks
It is a pretty weak waiver wire this week, but there are also some byes on the schedules for NFL teams. If a tight end has a bye and needs to be replaced Vannett could be a solid option. He has 17 fantasy points over the last two weeks and is earning Russell Wilson’s trust.
Vannett only had one catch against the Rams, but it went for a touchdown. The game before that, against the Chargers, he had six catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. He should not be added as a cure all to a roster, but as a plug and play for injuries or bye weeks. Vannett is available in over 90% of ESPN leagues.
