According to multiple reports, the Diamondbacks have made a trade with the Rangers for Jake Diekman. The Rangers will get minor-leaguer Wei-Chieh Huang and a player to be named later according to Robert Murray of The Athletic.
The Diamondbacks are gearing their bullpen up for postseason play, as they also acquired Brad Ziegler earlier in the day. Diekman has a 3.69 ERA in 47 appearances. He has two saves, but will most likely not be used in that role.
For the Rangers, they get a minor league pitcher in Huang. He has a 2.92 ERA in four seasons in the minors.
This trade is one of many to show that the Rangers are in rebuild mode.
