According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Carmelo Anthony will sign with the Houston Rockets on a one-year $2.4 million deal.
Anthony is in Houston completing his physical on Monday per Wojnarowski.
This offseason has been a whirlwind for Anthony, who started it off by opting into his contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder for one more season. He was then traded to the Atlanta Hawks, but was bought out of his contract shortly after.
He has since been rumored to join a few teams, but the Rockets were always the team that was thought to be the best fit.
The Rockets were leading the Golden State Warriors 3-2 in the Western Conference Finals last season before Chris Paul injured his hamstring and the Warriors came back. Signing Anthony to go along with Paul and James Harden will give the Rockets another good chance reach the NBA Finals.
