UCF has agreed to a deal with Gus Malzahn to be their next football coach according to Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel.
Malzahn has a 77-38 record as a head coach over nine seasons at Arkansas State and Auburn. He took Auburn to the BCS National Championship Game in his first year with the team in 2013.
After a 6-4 record with Auburn this season, the university decided to part ways and hired Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin to fill the position.
UCF was looking for a coach late in the hiring cycle because head coach Josh Heupel left to take the Tennessee job.
