The college football season is approaching. There is always debate over ranking the best players in the sport. Here are the top 25 college football offensive tackles heading into the 2026 season.
Note: There is some projection in these rankings for the upcoming season. These are not NFL Draft rankings, but rather focus on the best players in college football.
25. John Pastore, Kansas State Wildcats
A Second Team All-Big 12 selection last season, Pastore played well at left tackle for the Wildcats. He will be a big part of helping Collin Klein try to turn things around at Kansas State.
24. David Sanders, Tennessee Volunteers
Sanders started six games as a freshman and was named a Freshman All-American. He’ll move to left tackle this season, where he is expected to hold up well.
23. Drew Azzopardi, Washington Huskies
After starting his career at San Diego State, Azzopardi transferred to Washington in 2024. He has started at right tackle for the Huskies and helped them score 34.1 points per game last season.
22. Andrew Gentry, BYU Cougars
He started two games for Michigan in the first few seasons of his career, but Gentry was a full-time starter for BYU last season. He helped block for a well-balanced offense that scored 31.4 points per game with a freshman quarterback last season.
21. Teddy Williams, Army Black Knights
Williams is one of the best run blocking players in college football, fitting well in Army’s option attack. He may not play in a big conference, but Williams is worth watching this season.
20. Nick Del Grande, Duke Blue Devils
Del Grande started 35 games at Coastal Carolina and was a two-time All-Sun Belt selection. He now will suit up for the Blue Devils, who will be breaking in a new quarterback.
19. McKale Boley, Virginia Cavaliers
Boley has been at Virginia since 2022, developing well over that time. The left tackle was a Phil Steele Second Team All-ACC selection last season.
18. Michael Fasusi, Oklahoma Sooners
Fasusi was a coveted offensive tackle prospect and started as a freshman for Oklahoma. He made some freshman All-American teams and will be looking to build on that this season.
17. Melvin Siani, Texas Longhorns
Siani has played at Temple and Wake Forest before he joined Texas this season. He didn’t give up a sack last season for Wake Forest and now will help protect Arch Manning.
16. Jackson Cantwell, Miami Hurricanes
Cantwell is one of the highest-rated offensive tackle recruits in recent memory. With Miami losing a lot from their trenches to the NFL, he will have a lot on his plate as he prepares to start early in his career.
15. Lance Heard, Kentucky Wildcats
Heard started at left tackle for Tennessee last season, after also playing at LSU. He joins a bunch of transfers in Will Stein’s first Kentucky team who could have a much better offense this season.
14. Xavier Chaplin, Florida State Seminoles
Florida State hit the transfer portal to get Chaplin, who played well for the Auburn Tigers the last couple of seasons. He has started a lot of games and now will be tasked with helping Florida State turn things around.
13. Elijah Paige, USC Trojans
A former Freshman All-American, Paige started seven games last season while dealing with injuries. Now, Paige will return to help an offense that brings back seven other starters.
12. Ryan Baer, Pittsburgh Panthers
Baer was an Honorable Mention All-ACC selection as a right tackle last season. He has played in a lot of games and last season helped the team rank 20th in scoring with a freshman quarterback.
11. Howard Sampson, Texas Tech Red Raiders
Sampson transferred to Texas Tech from North Texas last season and earned Third Team All-Big 12 honors. He specifically excels at pass blocking and could help the Red Raiders go back to the CFP.
10. Earnest Greene, Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs have had a lot of solid play out of Greene over the last several seasons. Greene, a former Freshman All-American, will protect Gunner Stockton’s blindside as they try to create more big plays this season.
9. Andrew Sprague, Michigan Wolverines
Sprague took over the right tackle spot last season for Michigan and was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection. He will be a part of a good offensive line unit, but the other positions on offense will need to step up for the offense to have more success.
8. Niki Prongos, Stanford Cardinal
After playing three seasons at UCLA, Prongos started at left tackle for Stanford last season. PFF graded him as one of the best left tackles in the ACC, but that may have been underrating him.
7. PJ Williams, SMU Mustangs
Williams originally was a Texas A&M Aggie, but then transferred to SMU, where he has found great success. The right tackle was an All-ACC Second Team selection last season and brings plenty of experience to a possible ACC contender.
6. Jacarrius Peak, South Carolina Gamecocks
Peak earned a lot of experience during his time at NC State and is seen as a potential top draft prospect. He’ll help South Carolina this season, but he did suffer an offseason knee injury that he will have to recover from.
5. Tervor Lauck, Iowa Hawkeyes
A Third Team All-Big Ten selection last season, there is a lot of hype for Lauck this season. He helped Iowa’s offensive line win the Joe Moore Award for the best offensive line and could help them repeat as plenty of talent returns.
4. Cayden Green, Missouri Tigers
Green has played both guard and tackle in his career, but will play left tackle this season. He was a First Team All-SEC selection last season and his versatility can help him be a coveted NFL Draft prospect.
3. Carter Smith, Indiana Hoosiers
Smith was an All-American last season, as he helped Indiana win the national championship. Another good season could be in store for Smith, who will be leading a line that brings back two other starters.
2. Jordan Seaton, LSU Tigers
Seaton played at Colorado for two seasons, earning Freshman All-American honors in 2024 and Second Team All-Big 12 honors in 2025. He has slimmed down and can really help the Lane Kiffin offense at LSU this season.
1. Trevor Goosby, Texas Longhorns
Goosby could’ve gone pro after a successful year that saw him become a First Team All-SEC pick. Now he’s back on a roster that he can help lead to the CFP and maybe even more.
