Rocky Long to Step Down as SDSU Head Coach; Brady Hoke to Take Over

After nine years with San Diego State, Rocky Long is stepping down as head football coach. Bruce Feldman was the first to report the news.

Long posted an 81-38 record with the Aztecs, which included a bowl appearance in each season. He won four of those bowl games. His first head coaching job in college football was with the New Mexico Lobos. He coached there 11 years with a 65-49 record.

The Aztecs will make Brady Hoke their new head coach. He previously was the head coach at San Diego State from 2009-2010. Hoke also coached Michigan and Ball State. He has a 78-72 career record and was serving as San Diego State’s defensive line coach.
