There has been plenty of conference realignment in the last few years. There is one team joining the MAC in 2025. Here is the new MAC team in 2025.

City: Amherst, Massachusetts
UMass is making a return to the MAC! They were formerly in the conference from 2012 to 2015. They moved up to the FBS from the FCS level in 2012, but were independent from 2016 through last season. The Minutemen played their first season in 1879 and have compiled a record of 577-624-50.
Joe Harasymiak is entering his first season as head coach of UMass. He has been an assistant at Maine, Minnesota and Rutgers before taking over the Minutemen. He’ll only have three returning starters, so competing in the MAC will be tough from the start.
