There has been plenty of conference realignment in the last few years. There are four teams joining the C-USA. Here are the new C-USA teams in 2023.
Previous conference: FCS (Atlantic Sun)
City: Jacksonville, Alabama
Jacksonville State is making the jump from the FCS to the FBS this season. They went 9-2 last season.
Previous conference: Independent
City: Lynchburg, Virginia
Liberty is joining C-USA after being an independent. They were independent after joining the FBS in 2018. They went 10-1 in 2020.
Previous conference: Independent
City: Las Cruces, New Mexico
New Mexico State has been independent after leaving the Sun Belt and WAC. Their most recent winning season was a 7-6 record in 2017.
Precious conference: FCS (WAC)
City: Huntsville, Texas
Sam Houston is also making the transition from FCS to FBS football. They went 5-4 last season as a WAC member.
