LSU has decided to fire head coach Brian Kelly, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. This is following the Tigers losing to Texas A&M this weekend to drop to 5-3 on the season.
Kelly was in his fourth season with LSU and posted a 34-14 record overall. This season had high expectations, but the Tigers are 5-3. In his career, Kelly has a 200-76 record with time spent at Central Michigan, Cincinnati and Notre Dame before taking the LSU job.
The buyout for Kelly is reportedly $54 million. LSU hasn’t named an interim coach yet. They will be one of several big jobs open, including Penn State and Florida.
