Florida State Fires Willie Taggart After 9-12 Record in 2 Seasons

Florida State has decided to fire head football coach Willie Taggart amid his second season in Tallahassee. Brett McMurphy reported the news.

Taggart was 9-12 in his two seasons with the Seminoles. They went 5-7 last season and failed to qualify for a bowl game. With a 4-5 record this season, the Seminoles have to win two out of their last three games to make a bowl game this season.

He has a 56-62 record with four different schools at the FBS level. He started with Western Kentucky, moved on to USF and then got the Oregon job. After a season at Oregon, he left to take the Florida State job.

Odell Haggins will be the interim head coach for the team. He has been with the Seminoles for 26 years. Haggins started the year as associate head coach and defensive line coach.
