The University of Florida has decided to fire head football coach Billy Napier, according to On3. This comes a day after the Gators defeated Mississippi State to move to 3-4 on the season.
Napier was the head coach over four seasons for the Gators. He posted a 22-23 record with the program. Last season, Napier went 8-5, showing improvement from his first two seasons, but the slow start resulted with him being fired.
Billy Gonzalez will take over as interim coach for the Gators. They are off this week, but then play Georgia in week 10.
