EA Sports, the company responsible for the most popular sports video games on the market, have announced their intention to bring back the College Football franchise. The last release in the series was NCAA Football 2K14, back in 2013.
The official EA Sports Twitter account announced the return of the franchise on their Twitter account on Tuesday morning.
The most notable difference between the old releases and the new games is the omission of the “NCAA” title. This seems to denote there will be no partnership with the NCAA as an entity, and rather partnerships with the schools themselves.
EA Sports has come under fire as of late, amid complaints of their latest football release, Madden 21, not changing or updating enough from previous releases, resulting in a low-quality football simulation. In fact, Madden 21 has the worst Metacritic score of all time (for video games); a 0.4 out of 100.
There is no release date or cover athlete announced as of yet.
