Houston senior quarterback D’Eriq King will sit out the rest of the 2019 season and redshirt. Although it was originally reported that he would transfer, King will be back at Houston for the 2020 season.

The quarterback is taking advantage of a rule that was instated last year, allowing players to appear in no more than four games and still be eligible for a redshirt.
King has broken several records for passing and running the football in his time at Houston. In his career, he has passed for 4,925 yards, 50 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He rushed for 312 yards this season.
