The college football season is here. Every week, different news and notes will pop up, which will affect what happens on the field and off it. Here are the college football week 9 news and notes.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers will miss time with a shoulder injury that he suffered against Houston. Maalik Muprhy is expected to start in his place against BYU for week 9. There is no timetable for Ewers’s return to the lineup.
Last week Michigan suspended staffer Connor Stallions with pay for his role in an alleged sign-stealing operation. It is now confirmed that Stallions bought tickets for 30 games at 11 different Big Ten schools. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, evidence sideline taping will be turned over to the NCAA this week.
Utah quarterback Cam Rising has been shut down for the rest of the season. He has not played this year after suffering a knee injury late last season. Bryson Barnes and Nate Johnson have played in his place.
