

The college football season is here. Every week, different news and notes will pop up, which will affect what happens on the field and off it. Here are the college football week 8 news and notes.
Penn State has fired head coach James Franklin, who coached parts of 12 seasons with the team. Penn State lost three straight games this season and is now 3-3. Franklin was 104-45 at the school. Terry Smith is the interim head coach.
Auburn running back Damari Alston is no longer with the program, according to head coach Hugh Freeze. He had 809 rushing yards with the school over four seasons.
Texas A&M running back Le’Veon Moss injured his ankle and is now set to miss some time, according to head coach Mike Elko.
