Mel Tucker Fired For Cause
Pitt’s Goncalves and Jurkovec Injured
Pitt left tackle Matt Goncalves is out for the season. Quarterback Phil Jurkovec is questionable for week 5 after leaving the week 4 game with an undisclosed injury.
Conner Weigman Out for Season
Conner Weigman is out for the season with a foot injury that was suffered in week 4. Texas A&M will start Max Johnson in his place.
Tyler Shough Out Six-Eight Weeks
Texas Tech quarterback Tyler Shough suffered a leg injury against West Virginia in week 4. He is going to be out six to eight weeks.
Mel Tucker’s Formally Fired From Michigan State
Last week, Michigan State gave notice to Mel Tucker of their intention to fire him. This week they made it official according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Other News and Notes
- North Texas and Washington State have scheduled a home-and-home series for the future according to Brett McMurphy.
- Colorado cornerback Travis Hunter will be out again for the team’s game against USC. He suffered a lacerated spleen against Colorado State in week 3.
- Ole Miss tight end Michael Trigg is no longer with the program.
