Keelon Russell Named Alabama Starting Quarterback

Alabama has named redshirt freshman Keelon Russell as their starting quarterback. He won a battle with Austin Mack. Russell is a former five-star recruit. 

Tennessee to Start Faizon Brandon at Quarterback

Faizon Brandon has won the Tennessee starting quarterback job over George MacIntyre. The true freshman was a five-star recruit in the class of 2026. 

Aaron Philo to Start at Quarterback for Florida 

Jon Summrall has announced that Georgia Tech transfer Aaron Philo will start at quarterback for Florida. Philo beat out Trammell Jones for the job. In his career, Philo has passed for 938 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions on 57.8 percent completion. 

Ahmad Hardy To Miss the Start of the Season

Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy will miss the start of the season as he recovers from an offseason gunshot wound. His target return date is mid-September. 

The Big Ten and SEC Implement Rule to Ban Former Pros

The Big Ten and SEC have voted in a rule that players who were underclassmen and didn’t withdraw from the draft are ineligible. Football players who signed a contract with a pro sports league or anyone who was on a pro roster also won’t be eligible.
