College Football has now officially come back. Each week teams will be fighting for position in an effort to make the College Football Playoff. The teams will be ranked each week, but what matters most his who they have played and beaten already on the field. Preseason rankings will not be taken into consideration here. Here is College Football Playoff Bracketology October 11.
1. Clemson Tigers (4-0)
Clemson got the biggest win of the year so far with their victory over Miami. Not only do they look like the best team in the country, but now they have a big win to back that up.
This week: at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2-2)
2. Georgia Bulldogs (3-0)
The Bulldogs got another big win this week over a ranked Tennessee team. With another solid win over Auburn, Georgia has a solid resume. They now have to prove themselves against Alabama.
This week: at Alabama Crimson Tide (3-0)
3. Alabama Crimson Tide (3-0)
Alabama’s win over Texas A&M looks a lot better now that they have beaten Florida. The Crimson Tide struggled to separate from Ole Miss, but eventually got the job done. They certainly look like they will be back in the CFP this season.
This week: vs. Georgia Bulldogs (3-0)
4. North Carolina Tar Heels (3-0)
UNC scored a big win this week over Virginia Tech and put up a lot of points in the process. At 3-0, the Tar Heels seem like they will be competing in the ACC.
This week: at Florida State Seminoles (1-3)
Next Four Out
5. Cincinnati Bearcats (3-0)
Cincinnati was off this weekend, but still are a potential darkhorse team for the CFP. They have a ranked win over Army and will compete for an AAC title this year.
This week: at Tulsa Golden Hurricane (1-1)
6. Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (3-0)
Due to Hurricane Delta, Louisiana did not play Coastal Carolina this weekend. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 3-0 with a win Iowa State, which is carrying their resume.
This week: vs. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (3-0)
7. BYU Cougars (4-0)
The Cougars got a win over UTSA this weekend in what was their worst performance of the season. They have been rolling through their competition this season, but the lack of quality teams on the schedule will hold them back.
This week: at Houston Cougars (1-0)
8. Marshall Thundering Herd (3-0)
Marshall did not play this weekend, but they defeated a ranked Appalachian State team earlier this season. That is more than a lot of teams have done so far this year.
This week: at Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (3-1)
Next Four Out
9. SMU Mustangs (4-0)
SMU was off this week after going 4-0 to start the season. Last week, they had a big win over Memphis, who was ranked at the time.
This week: at Tulane Green Wave (2-2)
10. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3-0)
A win over Florida State this week doesn’t do much to help their case for the CFP, but the Irish remain undefeated.
This week: vs. Louisville Cardinals (1-3)
11. Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-0)
It has been shaky at times, but the Cowboys are 3-0. They are the Big 12’s best bet to make the CFP at this rate.
This week: at Baylor Bears (1-1)
12. Texas A&M Aggies (2-1)
The Aggies got an upset win over Florida to really boost their resume, after they lost to Alabama. They have some life in the SEC West.
This week: at Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-2)
