College Football 26 Dynasty Deep Dive

Below is a list of everything that was shown during the College Football 26 Dynasty Deep Dive. We will have our thoughts on each of them briefly as well.

Real Coaches & A New Progression System

Real coaches have been added to College Football 26 and they affect your program like never before.

There are over 300 authentic College Football coaches. Some coordinators have even made it into the game. Along with these, Archetypes and Abilities have been rebalanced for coaching. This will allow for things to progress a bit more naturally than they did in 25.

Playbooks were also updated with over 2,800 new plays, which will allow for coaches, both real and player-created, to feel more unique.

Coach Progression

There are a lot more options for creating your coach now. This does include more styles to wear which is something that fans have wanted for some time now.

The progression curve is one that was sorely needed and has been added to make getting your coach to the new level cap of 100 feel more natural. Coordinators as well have been revamped to help you shore up areas that you struggle in or pronounce areas that you already excel at.

Along with this, each of the Archetypes allow you to focus more on the one you choose. This does mean that trying to be great at many aspects will take time and much more work. Lastly, you need to be a certain level to go into the base levels of archetypes.

Legacy Building and History Features

The already teased and leaked trophy room is a reality. There are many different awards that can be won and you will be able to see them even before you get them. This will allow for you to plan for what else you need to add to your trophy room.

They also added in a true history book of College Football. Now, you will be able to compare yourself to the greatest teams of all time and see what your playthroughs have been since you started.

Player Movement and Recruiting Enhancements

The Transfer Portal got a major update. Things will be a lot more realistic for players moving, especially for four and five-star players. There will be anywhere between 2,000-3,500 players available each season for you to get.

Dynamic Deal Breakers

Player expectations now evolve with their talent, meaning a star player will demand better facilities or more playing time than a freshman. This system, coupled with coach abilities, adds a strategic layer to recruiting by influencing player demands and providing advantages.

Player Growth and Archetypes

New dynamic development traits significantly impact player progression, with 59 total player archetypes offering diverse abilities. Skill group levels have been expanded from 10 to 20, ensuring a more gradual and realistic development arc for athletes.

Recruiting Visits and Battles

Recruiting visits now incur location-based costs, simulating the real-world challenges of local versus national recruitment strategies. High-stakes “recruiting battles” emerge when multiple schools target the same recruit, while team needs are clearly highlighted to streamline recruiting efforts.

Wear and Tear System

Each player possesses a seasonal health pool that depletes with recovery, meaning they can’t fully recover until the off-season once empty. New auto-substitution options allow coaches to customize thresholds, enabling strategic management of player usage and long-term health.

Custom Conferences

The new protected opponents option ensures key annual matchups persist regardless of divisional changes, preserving vital rivalries. Teams can designate up to two such opponents, maintaining the integrity of historic rivalries within dynamic conference structures.

Formation Subs

New formation subs offer flexibility to assign players to specific alignments, enabling strategic exploitation of opponent weaknesses. With up to 50 subs per team and packages that carry over season-to-season, this feature adds a new layer of tactical play-calling.

Crossplay in Dynasty

This highly anticipated feature allows players to build their college football empires with friends across different gaming platforms. An enhanced player hub and a new members tab simplify dynasty management, fostering seamless communication and organization among connected players.
