Former USC head coach Clay Helton is expected to be hired by Georgia Southern according to Matt Zenitz.

Further reports have indicated that the move will become official in the next 24-48 hours.
Earlier this season, USC fired Helton as their head coach. He posted a 46-24 record at the school in eight different seasons at the school.
Georgia Southern also made a coaching change this season already. They fired head coach Chad Lunsford who had a 28-21 record in five seasons.
Helton will take over at a school that currently has a 2-6 record with four games left in the regular season.
