Arizona joins Colorado as former Pac-12 schools leaving the conference for the Big 12. A decision likely results from the Pac-12 not having a set television rights deal for the future and one with Apple currently on the table.

The school joined the conference in 1978 when it was called the Pac-10. They won one National Championship in college basketball during the 1996-1997 season. The football program has gone to 18 bowl games since joining the Pac-10, including two Fiesta Bowl appearances.

With Arizona leaving the conference, it leaves Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Stanford, California, Arizona State and Utah. Arizona State and Utah are currently trying to join the Big 12 according to Dellenger. USC and UCLA are headed to the Big Ten, but will compete in the conference this season.
